Saints Anargyri Cosmas and Damian

Saints Anargyri, Cosmas and Damian, were brothers and came from Asia. From a very young age,they were distinguished for their diligence in letters. They both graduated as doctors. Their philanthropic feelings did not let them rest even for a moment when they saw their fellow human beings dying, without basic medical treatment. They never for a moment used their profession to enrich themselves at the expense of the unfortunate people, but always regarded it as a sacred service and treated it as a sacred mission.

But in addition to the healing of the body, which they learned in their school, they were also vigorously engaged in the healing of the soul. Everywhere and always, they did not miss the opportunity to preach the name of Christ. They considered the evangelization of souls as their first and main task. Saints Cosmas and Damian, with their tactic of not taking money from the sick, had conquered the entire region. People did not call them by their real names, but Anargyrus. So humbly, after ministering to their neighbors throughout their lives, they died peacefully and were buried at the site of Ferema.
